Domestic reserves of propane fell by 400,000 barrels for the week ending April 25, cutting the total inventory to an estimated 21.9 million barrels.
“Restocking efforts by the nation’s primary stockholders took a turn for the worst last week after reporting a highly unseasonably 0.4 million barrel stockdraw,” said the Energy Information Administration when releasing the data.
With the decline, the gap between the current level of inventories and the lower limit of the average range of inventories for this time of year widened to an estimated 8 million barrels.
Regionally, most of the weekly decline occurred in the Midwest, which reported a slip of nearly 400,000 barrels. The Gulf Coast registered a dip of 100,000 barrels, while supplies in the East Coast increased a modest 100,000 barrels. Subsequently, the East Coast continued within the average range last week while at the same time Midwest and Gulf Coast inventories continued below their respective ranges.
