Gasoline Pump Prices Turn Lower Again
In reporting weekly retail gasoline price statistics, the Energy Information Administration said regular gasoline prices for the week ended May 26 dipped 1.1 cent to $1.487 per gallon. Prices increased 10.0 cents from the same week in 2002.
U.S. diesel prices slipped 0.9 cents to $1.434 per gallon for the week yet gained 12.6 cents from the corresponding week in 2002.
Regular gasoline prices in the Midwest fell 0.4 cents to $1.471 per gallon for the week ended May 26 and moved up 9.3 cents from the same week a year ago.
West Coast regular gasoline prices declined 3.6 cents to $1.699 per gallon but gained 19.4 cents from the year earlier period, while California regular gasoline prices moved down 4.6 cents to $1.763 per gallon for the week yet rose 20.9 cents from the same week in 2002.
