Regular gasoline prices for the week ended June 2 dipped 1.4 cent to $1.473 per gallon, while U.S. diesel prices slipped 1.1 cent to $1.423 per gallon, said the Energy Information Administration. Gasoline prices are 8.1 cents higher than the same week in 2002, while diesel fuel is 12.3 cents greater than the corresponding week in 2002.
Regular gasoline prices in the Midwest fell 2.2 cents to $1.449 per gallon for the week ended June 2 and moved up 5.1 cents from the same week a year ago.
West Coast regular gasoline prices declined 2.2 cents to $1.677 per gallon but gained 16.5 cents from the year earlier period, while California regular gasoline prices moved down 3.1 cents to $1.732 per gallon for the week yet rose 16.9 cents from the same week in 2002.
