The Energy Information Administration said that regular gasoline prices for the week ended June 23 dipped 2.2 cents to $1.496 per gallon, but are 11.2 cents higher than during the same week in 2002. U.S. diesel prices slipped 0.9 cents to $1.423 per gallon for the week, but gained 14.2 cents from the corresponding week in 2002.
Regular gasoline prices in the Midwest fell 6.7 cents to $1.451 per gallon for the week ended June 23, while increasing 7.9 cents from the same week a year ago.
West Coast regular gasoline prices rose 1.3 cents to $1.752 per gallon and rose 19.1 cents from the year earlier period, while California regular gasoline prices increased 1.8 cents to $1.805 per gallon for the week and increased 18.7 cents from the same week in 2002.
