Residential heating oil prices added 1.1cts at $2.745 gal during the week-ended Nov. 9, down 19.6cts or 6.7 percent from the corresponding 2008 price point, according to the Energy Information Administration.
The average cost for consumers along the East Coast rose 1.4cts to $2.764 gal, which is 6.8 percent below the comparable year-ago period.
In New England, home heating oil averaged 0.1cts more on the week at $2.75 gal, while consumers in the Central Atlantic, on average, paid 2.6cts more than the previous week at $2.81 gal. Residential heating oil prices in the Lower Atlantic gained 1.6cts at $2.559 gal.
The Midwest heating oil price, on average, decreased 2cts during the week-ended Nov. 9 to $2.51 gal, which is 5.5cts less than during the comparable week a year ago.
