Residential heating oil prices eased 0.1cts at $2.744 gal during the week-ended Nov. 16, and are down 8.6cts or 3 percent from the corresponding 2008 price point, according to the Energy Information Administration.
The average cost for consumers along the East Coast declined 0.2cts to $2.7663 gal, which is 3.4 percent below the comparable year-ago period.
In New England, home heating oil averaged 0.7cts more on the week at $2.759 gal, while consumers in the Central Atlantic, on average, paid 1.2cts less than a week ago at $2.798 gal. Residential heating oil prices in the Lower Atlantic dipped 0.1cts at $2.56 gal.
The Midwest heating oil price, on average, decreased 1.1cts during the week-ended Nov. 16 to $2.499 gal which is 1.7cts less than during the comparable week a year ago.
