The national average for on-highway diesel fuel decreased 1.2cts to $2.775 gal for the week-ended Nov. 30, the Energy Information Administration reported.
The weekly average is 16cts above the comparable year-ago period.
Retail diesel prices extended lower in all regions of the country except for a price increase in the New England region.
Consumers in the Central Atlantic region paid the highest rate for on-highway diesel fuel at $2.900, which is 2.5cts more than the comparable year-ago period. The price decreased 0.7cts.
Consumers paid the second-highest price for on-highway diesel fuel in the West Coast region, where prices dropped 0.8cts to $2.888 gal, which is 33.5cts more than the comparable year-ago period.
In California, on-highway retail diesel fuel shed 0.6cts at $2.948 gal, a 41cts gain versus the retail value a year ago.
The next highest price average was in the New England region at $2.869, which is 8.5cts less than the comparable year-ago period. The price increased 0.1cts on the week.
In the Midwest region, prices decreased 1.4cts to $2.748 gal, which is 17cts more than last year.
On-highway diesel prices decreased 1.1cts in the East Coast region at $2.792 gal, which is 5.7cts more than last year.
Prices shed 1.5cts in the Lower Atlantic region at $2.738 gal, which is 8.3cts more than the comparable year-ago period.
Consumers in the Gulf Coast region paid an average of $2.724 gal, down 1.4cts from the prior week, and up 16.8cts from a year ago.
Rocky Mountain diesel fuel prices decreased 0.8cts to $2.817 gal, which is 24cts more than the comparable year-ago period.
