Domestic propane stockpiles dropped 4.8 million bbl or 11.7 percent to 41.1 million bbl for the week-ended Jan. 15, according to the Energy Information Administration.
The supply draw down pressed domestic stockpiles 9.9 million bbl below year-ago levels, a 19.4 percent decline.
Regionally, propane in the PADD 1 East Coast region declined 900,000 bbl or 29 percent at 3.1 million bbl, while stocks in the PADD 2 Midwest region dropped 1.9 million bbl to 16.5 million bbl. Propane stocks in PADD 3 at the Gulf Coast dropped 2.0 million bbl to 20.1 million bbl. For PADDs 4 and 5, which include the Rocky Mountain and West Coast regions, propane stocks declined 100,000 bbl to 1.4 million bbl for the week reviewed.
