US Retail Gasoline Average Falls 4.4cts


The average price for all formulations regular grade gasoline decreased 4.4cts to $2.661 gal for the week-ended Feb. 1, according to the Energy Information Administration.

 

The average price is up 76.9cts gal compared with the same week in 2009.

 

Gasoline is averaging the least in the Gulf Coast and the most along the West Coast.

 

In the West Coast region, prices are 2.9cts lower on the week at $2.911 gal. The Pacific Northwest average is down 2.4cts at $2.800 gal for the week. City-wide, the Los Angeles average decreased 2.1cts to $3.025 gal while in Seattle, Washington, gasoline averages shed 3.3cts at $2.818 gal.

 

In the Gulf Coast the average was down 4.6cts at $2.541, and Houston decreased 5.1cts to $2.481 gal.

 

The Rocky Mountain average is down 0.7cts at $2.616 gal. Colorado averaged $2.535 gal, down 2.6cts on the week.

 

In the Midwest, prices dropped 6.1cts at $2.563, 69.3cts more than the comparable year-ago period.

 

In Minnesota, gasoline declined 6cts to $2.609 gal. In Ohio, the gasoline average lost 7cts at $2.476 gal.

 

Retail gasoline averaged $2.708 in Florida, down 3.8cts from the prior week. Central Atlantic states posted a 3.4cts decline in their average to $2.715 gal, with the New England region down 1.7cts at $2.735 gal. Overall, gasoline along the East Coast averaged $2.685 gal, down 3.8cts from the prior week.
