Domestic propane stockpiles dropped 2.9 million bbl or 8.6 percent to 33.9 million bbl for the week-ended Jan. 29, according to the Energy Information Administration.
The drawdown expanded the year over year supply deficit to 12.6 million bbl or 27.1 percent below the year-ago level.
Regionally, propane in the PADD 1 East Coast region declined 400,000 bbl or 14.3 percent at 2.8 million bbl, while stocks in the PADD 2 Midwest region dropped 1.5 million bbl to 13.4 million bbl. Propane stocks in PADD 3 at the Gulf Coast dropped 800,000 bbl to 16.7 million bbl. For PADDs 4 and 5, which include the Rocky Mountain and West Coast regions, propane stocks declined 300,000 bbl to 900,000 bbl for the week reviewed.
